Division of Culture and History celebrates 50 years of historic site preservation

Division Of Culture And History Celebrates 50 Years Of Historic Site Preservation: Randall Reid-Smith, Commissioner of the West Virginia Division of Culture and History (WVDCH), presents certificates of appreciation for three regional Historic Preservation Sites. The National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) listed both Olds Fields homes in 1973. (The third certificate honored the Old Fields and Battle of Moorefield Historic Districts, both determined eligible for NRHP listing.)

Hakala accepted the certificates on behalf of the current property owners, Renick and Betty Williams (Fort Pleasant) and Robert and Kathleen Taylor (Willow Wall). The MHLC received the certificate for the two historic districts.
