Logger Loses Life in Tucker County Logging Accident

U.S. Forest Service and The West Virginia State Police assisted at the logging accident

A logging accident on Location Road resulted in the death of William Paul Skinner, 59, of Horner.  According to a report released by the Parsons Detachment of the West Virginia State Police, on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at approximately1 p.m. Skinner, owner of Skinner Logging, was in the process of cutting a tree when the tree fell in his direction striking him.  Skinner died at the scene.

 
Skinner’s company was contracted by High Mountain Logging Company to cut an area on Location Road approximately eight miles from St. George.
The Parsons Volunteer Fire Department and Tucker County EMS assisted at the scene.  The West Virginia State Police, Tucker County Sheriff’s Department, OSHA, U.S. Forest Service and the West Virginia Division of Forestry assisted at the scene.
