New Signs Grace Entrances to Parsons
New Signs have been erected on the north and south entrances, of US 219, into Parsons to greet and welcome the public. The new signs boast highly visible graphics that depict a rendition of the Tucker County Courthouse on one side of town and a cannon to commerate the Civil War past on the other.
The signs were commissioned from Tim Harris, of Elkins and this is a project that has been years in the making. They are constructed from high density foam and will withstand the elements.
The sign on WV72 was erected about ten years ago and has a depiction of a train. Plans are in the making to have Harris refurbish that sign as well.
Mayor, Dorothy Judy, said, “Every little thing we do to beautify the community is an asset. PRO, a member of WV ON-TRAC, is working so hard to clean up our town. It is great to see so many positive results come to fruition.”
City Administrator/Treasurer, Jason Myers said, “This is a start of many good things to come. We want to show a sense of pride in our town so the first thing people see when they enter town are the beautiful signs.”
