218Total Views
The Tucker County Health Department announced that they have received free vaccines for Shingles. Merck Medco worked along with The State Health Department to get the free serum for these vaccines into the area. This vaccine is for individuals age 60 and older.

The clinic will run Wednesday, May 7 and Thursday, May 8 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Tucker County Health Department located at 206 ½ Third St. Parsons. No appointment is necessary but a written prescription from your doctor is required.

If you have had chicken pox, you are at risk of getting shingles. If you are allergic to gelatin or Neomycin, or have a compromised immune system, you should not be vaccinated unless your doctor feels it is safe.

Anyone wishing more information about the free vaccines should contact The Tucker County Health Department at 304-478-3572.
