Tucker County Teens at Youth Leadership SummitHORSESHOE – St. George, WV – Building Up the Future was the theme for this year’s annual Middle School Leadership Summit at Horseshoe Leadership Center on June 23 – 29, involving youth from throughout West Virginia.
Building confidence and teamwork, leadership, trustworthiness, caring, service learning, how to raise money for your organization, and international issues were some of the workshop topics for the week-long residential session.   In the words of a student, “This week has been fantastic!  I learned how to be a better leader, how to work with others and compromise.  I learned leadership skills that I believe will make me a better person.  I learned how to meet people and have fun.  I am more open and social.  This summit has changed me in a good way.”
Leadership Summit sponsors include local Lions, Rotary, Kiwanis, and Ruritan Clubs, churches, community foundations/organizations,  the Ohio-West Virginia YLA, corporations, individual and private donors.
Information on Youth Leadership Summit is available on our web page at http://www.yla-youthleadership.org/Horseshoe.html  or by calling 304-478-2481.
