PARSONS – A Tucker County man pleaded guilty to an information Friday in Tucker County Circuit Court. Terry Michael Jividen of Parsons appeared with his attorney Frank Bush before Tucker County Circuit Court Judge James W. Courrier Jr.
Jividen appeared with his attorney Frank Bush and entered a plea by way of an information. Jividen was charged with one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.
Tucker County Prosecuting Attorney Ray LaMora III said the terms of the plea agreement include a sentence of not more than five years in a state correctional facility to be suspended with three years of probation. He said if all fees are paid and there is no objection from the probation office, he would agree Jividen could be released from probation after two years.
Courrier accepted Jividen’s plea and sentenced him to five years but suspended the sentence, ordering him to spend three years on probation.
Also, Corey Cochran appeared in Tucker County Circuit Court. Courrier sentenced Cochran to 10 to 25 years in a state penitentiary.
Cochran had previously pleaded guilty to one count of sexual assault in the first degree and one count of sexual assault in the second degree.
LaMora said Cochran also used his handcuffs to scratch the holding cell in the Tucker County Courthouse while waiting to appear in court. LaMora said Cochran pleaded guilty to one count of destruction of property and was given jail time and restitution for this charge.
