During the season of Lent the Knights of Columbus challenge all Christians to sacrifice and help others by donating 40 cans of food or non-perishable items to the food pantry. This program is inspired by Christ’s 40 days of fasting in the desert.
Whether you observe Lent or not, donating food to the food pantry is a great way to serve others in our community who are in need.
One doesn’t need to donate “40 cans”, one can helps someone.
Cans of food can be dropped off at the Lenten Fish Fry on Fridays between 4 and 6 p.m. at our Lady of Mercy Hall, in Parsons or at Thomas Catholic Church Hall. Canned goods will be delivered to either the Hinkle House Food Pantry or the Blackwater Ministry Food Pantry for those in need.
