SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV—Seven hundred and sixty-eight students received degrees during Shepherd University’s 143rd Commencement on May 7. James A. Leach, chair in public affairs, visiting professor of law, and senior scholar at the University of Iowa College of Law, former Iowa congressman, and former chair of the National Endowment for the Humanities, delivered the commencement address and was also awarded an honorary doctorate.
Located in West Virginia’s Eastern Panhandle, Shepherd University is a public liberal arts university. Shepherd is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges (COPLAC).
