Tucker Valley Boys and Girls Track team competed in seven meets in the 2016 season. Both teams together consisted of 43 boys and girls. This has be the seventh year Tucker Valley has had a boys and girls track team. During this season there were six school records broken.
Kate Falls, a sixth grader, set the new school record for the 1600 meter run at 5:53.54 at the Toothman Ford Invitational. A new record for the 4×800 meter relay was also set at the Toothman Ford Invitational, by Caitlin Fladung, Morgan Key, Kate Falls and Karlee Smith. They ran an 11:07.51.
On the boys’ side, there were four new records set, all by the same athlete, Will White. White set the records for the High Jump at five feet eight inches and the 400 meter run at 54.04, competing at the
Toothman Ford Invitaional. White also set the new record for the Long Jump at 18 feet seven inches, during the Preston County meet, while setting the 200 meter run, new record at 24 seconds flat in Elkins, at the Tygarts Valley/Elkins Meet.
White and Fladung along with the other eighth graders will be moving up to the high school next year.
