Flood Relief Donations

Tucker County Family Resource Network is seeking
which local churches, community groups or other agencies are working to collect supplies for the 2016 flood relief efforts. TCFRN is working in collaboration with the City of Parsons, OEM, Senior Center, City of Thomas, Mt. State Brewing and other local agencies to coordinate collection efforts. There is access for delivery of the items through the OEM office. If you are interested in teaming up, let April Miller of FRN or any of the other agencies know. As always…. Tucker County never fails to support our neighbors!!

Mountaineer Wilderness Experience survival training seminar

West Virginia Mountain Ministries and Mountaineer Wilderness Experience will be hosting a survival training seminar Sunday, July 3 at Canaan Valley Baptist Church from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The training will focus primarily on home and personal preparation in light of natural disasters or catistrophic events. The training is free and lunch will be served.

Cakewalk

St. John’s Youth Fellowship will be sponsoring a cakewalk on Saturday July 2 at 6 p.m. at the Courthouse Square. Llive music provided by the Youth Choir. Everyone welcome.

Farmer and Artisan Regional Market F.A.R.M.

The Farmer and Artisan Regional Market takes place on Fridays from 4-6:30 p.m. Located in the grassy field across from the Davis Fire hall,. Features produce grown within 50 air miles of Davis and value added food and art handmade by local folks.

Hambleton Pentecostal Church Revival

There will be a revival nightly at 7 p.m. on July 7, 8 and 9 at Hambleton Pentecostal Church. Guest speaker will be Evangelist Hubert Neel. For more information contact Pastor JR Mayle at 304-518-9139

Summer Movie Days

Summer Movie Days at Five Rivers Public Library, Wednesdays, July 6, 13, 20, 27, August 3 and 10.
1 – 3 p.m. Free Snacks and drinks provided. Movies are rated G and PG – On the big screen. Check the Library’s face book and web page for titles or contact the Library. All are welcome.

Miles for Miranda walk/run

There will be a 5k run and 2 mile walk at 9 a.m. on Aug. 6 at Mill Race Park. Music will beprovided, registration fee is $10. Preregister and get a free T-shirt (t-shirts are not guaranteed to entrants who register same day). Registration form on www.tristateracer.com/event.php?RaceID=8713. Benefit Miles for Miranda.

SUMMER CAMP SESSIONS

Summer camp, a four week program, from July 5 –July 28, three days per week, Tuesday- Thursday, from 8 a.m.- noon. The camp will be at Tucker Valley and Davis Thomas for students in K-4th grade. Transportation will be provided.
Contact the Tucker County Board of Ed. office or Valerie Eye at 304 621 2022. Return registration to the BOE by June 24.

Representatives from Attorney General’s Office in Tucker

Representatives from Attorney General Patrick Morrisey’s Office will be available during July at the following times:
11 a.m. to noon July 27 at Flanagan Hill Community Center in Red Creek.
1 to 2 p.m. July 27 at the Harman Community Building in Harman.

Mountaintop Public Library Fund Raiser

Tickets are now on sale at the Mountaintop Public Library for the annual Garden Party Fund Raiser on August 6. All proceeds got toward the new library building fund pledge matching campaign.

Summer reading program at the Mountaintop Public Library

The Summer reading program at the Mountaintop Public Library has begun but it is not too late to join. Great books for all ages and free ice cream for everyone who reads two books.
