THOMAS – The Mountaintop Public Library will host a discussion and book signing with author Natalie Davis Miller at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Buxton & Landstreet Studio & Gallery. Miller’s latest book is “Swimming with Faith,” the Missy Franklin Story.
Missy is an Olympic gold medalist and this new biography reveals the life of the inspirational Christian athlete. At age 17, Missy debuted at the 2012 Olympics and earned an impressive five medals, four of which were gold. She currently holds the world record in the 200-meter backstroke as well as the American records in both the 100-meter and 200-meter backstroke.
Missy was named Swimming World’s World Swimmer of the Year and the American Swimmer of the Year, as well as FINA’s Swimmer of the Year in 2012.
Swimming with Faith: The Missy Franklin Story reveals the inspiring events and hard work Missy went through that led to becoming an Olympic Gold Medalist. As a devout Christian, Missy has always attributed her success to her faith in God and strives to be a positive role model for aspiring young athletes and children alike.
