Chicken Burn
Parsons Volunteer Fire Department will have their Annual Chicken Burn on Saturday August 13 from 11a.m.-??? 1/2 Chicken, Potato Salad, Green Beans, Texas Toast, Cookie & Drink $10.00 each. All proceeds benefit the Parsons Volunteer Fire Department and Ladies Auxiliary.
Historical Society meeting
The Tucker County Historical Society will meet Sunday August 14 at 2 p.m. at the Tucker County Historical Society Museum in the Tucker County Annex at 501 Chestnut St. Visitors welcome.
Board of Directors Meeting
The regular meeting of the Appalachian Community Health Center’s Board of Directors will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 16 at 6 p.m. at the Central Office Conference Room in Elkins.
Miles for Miranda walk/run
There will be a 5k run and 2 mile walk at 9 a.m. on Aug. 6 at Mill Race Park. Music will be provided, registration fee is $10. Miracles from heaven, rated PG, will be shown in the public in the library’s meeting room on Monday, August 8 from 5:30-7:15 p.m. , Snacks and drinks provided.
TCHS Class of 2018 Chicken Burn
TCHS Class of 2018 Chicken Burn will be Saturday Aug. 6 – 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. or until all dinners are sold out. In the Courthouse parking lot (Across from City Hall). ½ Chicken, Scalloped Potatoes, Green Beans, Roll, Dessert and Water. $10 per meal; all proceeds will benefit the TCHS Class of 2018.

Circle up! It’s an evening of square dancing with caller Lou Maiuri and the Appalachian Country cloggers at Blackwater Falls State Park. Don’t let early mountain traditional dance disappear. Blackwater Falls Lodge. No experience necessary—willing to have fun is the only requirement. Event open to the public at no charge. All ages welcome.
