Lena Annabelle Fitzwater Cross Harper

LenaHarperLena Annabelle Fitzwater Cross Harper, age 80 years, a lifelong resident of the Moore Community, Montrose, WV and more recently a resident of Orlando, FL, departed this life Friday afternoon, August 12, 2016 at her home in Montrose, WV, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Saturday, January 4, 1936 at St. George, WV, a daughter of the late Roy and Snoda Alice Tennett Fitzwater.  She was twice married.   First, on May 12, 1954 at Oakland, MD to Omer Leon Cross, who preceded her in death February 7, 2005.  Second, on October 4, 2009 at Moore, WV, to Billy J.  Harper, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Edward Leon Cross of Moore, Omer Roy Cross and wife Sherry of Blackman Flats; two daughters, Deloris Ann Nestor of Moore, Julie Renee Weese and husband Ronald of Elkins; four stepchildren, Juanita Collor and husband Raymond, Bill D. Harper and wife Stacey, David Harper and Diana Harper, all of FL;  two brothers, Lorren Fitwater and wife Annie of Montrose, Alfred Fitzwater and wife Barbara of Limestone; one sister, Carol Owens and husband Bruce of Licking Creek; two granddaughters, Courtney and Alexia Weese; three great grandchildren, Carson, Benson and Erin; six step grandchildren, Pamela, A.J., Vickie, Taylor, Kyle, and Amanda; three step great grandchildren, Victor, Max, and Justin; three great-great grandchildren;  and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are one brother, Robert Fitzwater; and one sister, Rosalea Harper.  one step grandson, Victor Seargent.
She attended the one room Euin School at St. George and Parsons High School.  She was a Homemaker.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Moore.  She enjoyed traveling, cooking, baking and canning, and was especially known for her peanut butter candy.  Lena especially enjoyed her time with her grandchildren.
The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons from 5 to 8 p.m, Tuesday.  Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor, Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 11 a.m.  The Rev. William R. Brown will officiate and interment will follow at the Pifer Mountain Cemetery at St. George, WV.  The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Lena Annabelle Fitzwater Cross Harper.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at; www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com
