Parsons WV – 8/4/2016 – Five Rivers Public Library has joined Library Ideasâ network of Public Library websites that offer access to over 7 million songs, including Sony Music Entertainment’s catalogue of legendary artists.
The Freegalâ Music Service will allow the Five Rivers Public Library to increase the size and diversity of its collection by offering access to over 28,000 music labels from 101 different countries.
Under the terms of the agreement, registered (unexpired) cardholders of the Five Rivers Public Library can download three of Freegal Music MP3 files each week and stream three hours of music every day at no direct cost via www.fiverivers.lib.wv.us . The library will underwrite the purchase of the music. The Freegal Music Service also has popular music videos for download.
Over 5,000 libraries around the world subscribe to the Freegal Music Service.
The Freegal Music Service has free mobile apps for registered cardholders of subscribing libraries. The Freegal Music apps are available in the Apple® App Store and Google Play®.
“We are very excited to offer a service like this that delivers great music, compatibility with lots of devices and simplicity of use. We think this will be incredibly popular with our patrons and will help the library in marketing all its services to the community,” said director Nancy Moore. Contact the library for more information 304-478-3880.
Freegal Music has become the most popular way for library users to access music and we are excited to be welcoming Five Rivers Public Library,” said Brian Downing, CEO of Library Ideas. “We believe this is a strong move for the library’s digital strategy.”
