Sandra “Sandy” Kaye Nestor, 65, a native of Parsons and a resident of Land O’ Lakes, FL went to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital North in Lutz, FL. with her family by her side.
Sandy was born Wednesday, March 21, 1951 in Parsons, a daughter of the late Harold Nestor and Ruby V. Bonner Nestor Harbert.
Left to cherish her memory are three sisters, Susan Knotts and husband Donald of Hambleton, Sheila Roy and husband Harold of Clermont, FL and Sherry Mills and husband Eddie of Land O Lakes, FL, nieces and nephews, Michele Foss and husband Michael of Holtville, CA, Thomas Gieck and wife Ramona of Imperial, CA, Kim Marshall of FL, Shelly Tickle and husband Matt of Apopka, FL and Nicholas Mills and wife Kristina of Spring Hill, FL and great nieces and nephews, Brittani Foss-Abubo, Alyssa and Haley Tickle, Lauren Gieck, Nichole Mills, Michael Brandon Foss and Clinton Mills and Samantha Phillips.
Preceding Sandy in death besides her parents was one niece, Cassie D. Mills.
Sandy graduated from Monongah High School in 1969 and joined the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. She was honorably discharged. Following the flood of 1985, Sandy was the head of T.I.R.E, Tucker Interfaith Recovery Effort. The group was formed in order to coordinate twenty local churches for the purpose of providing relief to flood victims. Sandy was a member of Victorious Life Church, Wesley Chapel, FL.
A graveside service was conducted in Parsons City Cemetery Monday, August 22, 2016 at 11 a.m. Rev. Eli Hostetler officiated and intermentl followed where full military honors were conducted by members of H.W. Daniels Post #29, American Legion, Tygarts Valley Post #3647, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Tucker County Veterans Association and the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.
