Eugene Richard Nestor, age 75 years, a resident of the Mt. Zion Community, St. George, WV, departed this life Saturday morning, August 27, 2016 at his home. He had been in declining health, however death was unexpected.
He was born Saturday, March 8, 1941 at St. George, WV a son of the late Floyd Jennings and Ethel Fawley Nestor. On March 6, 1961 at Oakland, MD, he was married to the former Carol Sue Starcher, who survives. They had celebrated fifty-five years of marriage.
Also surviving are three sons, Rocky Eugene Nestor and wife Jamie, Ricky Alan Nestor and wife Lucinda and Randall Craig Nestor and wife Robyn all of Parsons; one brother, Clyde Nestor of Parsons, two sisters, Elsie Jones of Kerens, Ruth Bott and husband Ralph of Fredericksburg, VA; eleven grandchildren, Lyndsey, Sierra, Lily, Leslie, Sydney, Macy, Zoe, Kandace, Rory, Gavin and Eli; and one great grandson, Garrick.
Preceding him in death are one brother, Harold Nestor; and two sisters, Betty Phillips and Blanche Falls.
He attended the schools of Baltimore, MD. He worked as a Pipefitter for the United Mine Workers. He enjoyed working of the farm and piddled around. He, along with his wife attended many Christian Crusades and ministered for twenty-five years. His hobby was “The Word of God”. He enjoyed his grandchildren, attending basketball and football games.
The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 11 a.m.. Rev. Pat Cassidy will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, WV. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Eugene Richard Nestor.
