BAKER – The Tucker Valley Middle School Football team traveled to East Hardy last Wednesday September 7th. East Hardy outscored the Wildcats 26-0 in the second quarter and went on to get the win over Tucker Valley 38-6.
Both teams struggled to score in the first quarter as the score was tied 0-0 at the end of the first quarter. The home standing Cougars started to get the offense rolling in the second quarter thanks to some big plays and a turnover by Tucker Valley. East Hardy took a 26-0 lead into the half after the second quarter.
In the second half Tucker Valley got on the scoreboard with a Gus Mullennex touchdown run, but East Hardy was too much to handle as the Wildcats fell in the contest by the final of 38-6.
Josh Callaway led Tucker Valley with 40 yards rushing, 15 yards receiving and 65 return yards for a total of 120 all-purpose yards. Gus Mullennex had 39 yards rushing for the Wildcats and Jeremy Liller added 25 yards rushing. Lance Brickles had 2 sacks on defense for Tucker Valley in the loss.
Tucker Valley will host Pendleton County tonight at 7pm. For more Tucker County Sports info visit TuckerCountySports.Com
