Tucker Community Foundation’s annual Run For It race held last weekend during the Leaf Peepers Festival in Davis hosted a record number of racers and raised a record breaking $230,000 for community causes throughout the Potomac Highlands region of West Virginia and Garrett County, Maryland. More than 1300 runners, walkers, and strollers with babies ranging from 5 weeks to 99 years young covered the streets of Davis vying for cash awards totaling $86,700 to donate to programs and projects they support. Since the Foundation started the program 10 years ago, the event has generated more than $1.2 million for the region. Executive Director, Robert Burns stated, “An incredible volunteer effort and strong support from race sponsors, team sponsors and team captains continue to raise the bar for this program. The value of Run For It extends well beyond the money. Teams from eight counties have established partnerships and networks that continue to build and strengthen and benefit our region.”
