ELKINS, W.Va. – The Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad, Railyard Restaurant, and the local family production, the Franks Family Music Show, have partnered to give a new and exciting venue to the historic Elkins Railyard.
Beginning Friday, September 23rd, “The Greatest Show on Rails” will be unveiled for its opening weekend, located on the 2nd floor of the Railyard Restaurant at 200 Depot Street in Elkins. Musicians include Denny Franks, Jessie Franks Wanless, Jeremy Wanless, Joel Franks, Jeremiah Franks, Ishah Franks, Willie Ward, Pat Schoonover, Joe “Danger” Gainer, & Kathy Gainer.
The 2nd floor show location of the Railyard Restaurant has been transformed in to an intimate 90 seat theater setting, with a beautiful new stage, lights, and video production, which is set to give all guests a memorable evening of family friendly music and entertainment.
“The Greatest Show on Rails” is a new and interactive show that will take you on a virtual nation-wide musical adventure, all from the comfort of your seat! Travel by “rail” for 90 minutes of nonstop entertainment, city by city, as you enjoy songs, genres, and even railroad history, from all parts of the country.
“We are beyond excited to have the talented cast of the Franks Family Music Show join in with what we do at the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad,” says DGVR Marketing Manager Matt Scott. “Our goal has always been to give our visitors a memorable experience with the beauty and history of our rails. Now guests have have another option of ending their day in Elkins, with the amazing production and cast of “The Greatest Show on Rails,” a performance that’s not just a show, but an experience you don’t want to miss!”
Showtime is 7:30 PM on Friday and Saturday evenings, with a Christmas show schedule to be announced later this season. Ticket prices for this live show are $20 for adults and $10 for children (ages 4 & under are free.) Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling 304-460-5009.
