This is a copy of a report card that some folks may remember. These cards were used in first through eighth grade. The cards were issued at the end of each school month and school lasted for nine months. The thought was that the parent would have an idea of how the child was doing each month. Parents were ask to support the child and the teacher. In first grade students studied: reading, writing, spelling, arithmetic, nature study, physiology and hygiene, drawing, music. In second grade, history was added. In fourth grade, language and geography were added. In sixth grade, history was replaced by United States History and geography was dropped. In seventh grade, nature study was replaced by agriculture. In eighth grade, West Virginia History was taught along with US History, civil government was also added.
