bennett-millieMildred Loraline “Millie” Bava Bennett, 85, a resident of Parsons, passed from this life Saturday, November 12 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
Millie was born Saturday, January 17, 1931 in Pierce, a daughter of the late Pete and Lectie Lipscomb Bava. In 1951, she married William Von Bennett who preceded her in death May 27, 2011.
Left to cherish Millie’s memory is one son, William A. Bennett of Massanutten, VA, one sister, Caroline Williams and husband Arnold of Eleanor, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding Millie in death besides her parents and husband were four brothers, Tony, Daniel, John, Joseph and one sister, Sarah.
Millie graduated from Davis High School with the class of 1951, Davis & Elkins College with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1978, and West Virginia University with a Master’s Degree in 1984. She worked for the Tucker County School system for 48 years starting in the kitchen, then in the office, and then as a teacher’s aide before becoming a teacher. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, attending church camp meetings, and was an active member of the Parsons Church of God and Perry Stone’s Voice of Evangelism where she had been a partner since 1977.
A visitation will be held at Hostetler Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home chapel Thursday, November 17, 2016 at noon with the Rev. David Snyder, Rev. Robert Leard, and Rev. Eli Hostetler officiating. Interment will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Thomas.
