PARSONS – A Parsons man pleaded guilty to one count of breaking and entering. Jesse James Burns appeared with his attorney Timothy Gentilozzi in Tucker County Circuit Court Thursday before Judge James Courrier. The charges stem from a breaking and entering at the Parsons Detachment of the West Virginia State Police on Dec. 12, 2014.
The special prosecutor for this case was Michael Parker because Tucker County Prosecutor Ray Lamora III has represented Burns in a past case.
Courrier accepted Burns’ plea and placed him on probation.
In other Tucker County Court Cases:
-Clinton Dale Streets, 27, of Davis, appeared with his attorney Timothy Gentilozzi before Judge Courrier. Streets was charged with one felony count of shoplifting 3rd offense. Streets pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of shoplifting 2nd degree, a misdemeanor and one count of misdemeanor destruction of property for carving his initials in the holding cell in the Tucker County Courthouse.
Judge Courrier assessed $50 restitution for the shoplifting charge to be paid to Parsons Shop ‘n Save and $100 restitution to the Tucker County Commission for the destruction of property in the holding cell. He was sentenced to one year for the destruction of property and six months for shoplifting. His time is to be served concurrently.
Streets asked that he be allowed to be released from jail for a week during hunting season so he could go hunting with his father. His request for release was denied.
-Robin R. Maxson, 40, appeared in Tucker County Court Thursday for sentencing on one count of sexual assault in the third degree. The court received a psychological risk assessment and victim statements from the victim’s mother and sister. Heather Weese, guardian ad litem spoke about the trauma for the victim and said the victim has relocated and is attending another school.
Judge Courrier ordered Maxson to pay any court fees as well as any counseling costs for the victim. Courrier ordered post release supervision for 15 years. He ordered Maxson to 1 to 5 years in jail and said he would receive credit for time served. Maxson’s attorney was Jeremy Cooper.
-Jesse Derick Suesli, Hambleton, appeared in court Tuesday on charges of conspiracy. Tucker County Prosecuting Attorney Ray Lamora III said the state filed a motion to dismiss the conspiracy charge without prejudice. LaMora said the state plans to bring the charges back at a later date.
