What does homecoming mean anyhow?

Homecoming has many implications but this particular one means coming home to God. This year the Methodist Church in Thomas, West Virginia is inviting many past members to come back to their roots.

One of the members of the congregation received the inspiration from the Holy Spirit to have a banner put outside the church, which reads HOMECOMING 2017. This will be displayed all year as a reminder. Plans are being made to welcome them.

Rev. Neil Parsons is the pastor of four Methodist churches on the mountaintop. They include Thomas, Davis, Flanagan Hill and Buena which is Canaan Valley. There are also four other Methodist churches in Parsons. Each one has their own pastor. They are St. Paul’s Methodist church with Rev. Michael Lantz, Hendrickx Church with Rev. Loren and Susan Metzner, St. John’s Church with Pastor Phil Dent and First Methodist with Rev. William Brown as Pastor.
Part of the program for Thomas Methodist Church besides welcoming people back, is to do home visiting and pray with them. Dinners, revival speakers and other events are being planned throughout the year.

The Thomas church has prayer and anointing each week for healing and special requests for individuals. The Shofar is blown as a call to worship. This is followed by Praise and Worship in song to Almighty God for whom we were created.

God says if My people will repent and pray He will heal our land. A prayer meeting has started to pray in revival for the kingdom beginning at the Thomas Methodist church. This will be held at 1 p.m. the first Monday of every month. Everyone is welcome.
