According to a press release from the Parsons Detachment of the West Virginia State Police, they have recently received several reports of vacation homes burglarized in the Canaan Valley, Red Creek and Dry Fork area. These homes were all empty at the time of the crime. If you own a vacation home in the area, please be aware that this is occurring and check your residence frequently. If not already installed, you may want to consider home alarms or other security measures. The State Police would ask all residents of the area to be observant of your community and if you see suspicious activity, contact Law Enforcement.
