Patricia Ann “Patsy” Reed Nestor, age 61 years, a native of Tucker County and a resident of Cortland Acres, Thomas, WV, departed this life Thursday morning March 30, 2017 at Cortland Acres. She had been in declining health.
She was born Friday, May 27, 1955 at Alexandria, VA, a daughter of the late Charles Edgar Reed and Elizabeth Cary Gratz Reed, who survives at Reva, VA. On June 26, 1991 at Elkins, WV, she was married to Donald Roy “Frosty” Nestor, who survives.
Also surviving are one brother, Cary W. Reed of Canaan Valley; one sister Gail Reed of Reva, VA; her Mother-in-law, Catherine “Kaye” Nestor; sister-in-law’s, Pam Waugh and husband Jimmy; Nancy Simpson and husband Thomas, Teresa Surock and husband Eric; Mary Knotts and husband Craig, Teresa Nestor; brother-in-law, Jeff Nestor; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her Father-in-law, Donald Ray Nestor; and brother-in-law, Kelly R. Nestor.
She attended the schools in Virginia and Elkins, WV, and previously worked at the Sheltered Workshop in Elkins. Patsy was so special, enjoyed life to the fullest, having a continuous sense of humor, “She was a pistol”. She absolutely enjoyed all the holidays, spending time with her family and coloring eggs was a joy to her. Patsy enjoyed gospel music, puzzle books and coloring. The love of her life was her husband, “My Don”.
The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons, WV on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. Final rites were conducted at the funeral home on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 1 p.m. The Rev. Dave Snyder will officiate and interment will follow at the Nestor Family Cemetery at Clover, WV. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Patricia Ann “Patsy” Reed Nestor.
