PARSONS – Probable cause was found for three felony charges for an Oakland, Md man. Charles Lee Wolfe, 34, is being held in the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail on a $150,000 cash only bond. He is accused of three charges in Tucker County – one felony charge of strangulation, one felony charge of burglary and one felony charge of kidnapping.
A criminal complaint filed in Tucker County Magistrate Court on April 10 said at approximately 6:45 April 10, Cpl. D. W. Burge, WVSP Trooper First Class J. J. Schmidle and Tucker County Deputy C. R. Donelson were notified of an alleged kidnaping that occurred in Davis. The complaint alleges the 20-year-old victim was abducted by Wolfe from her parent’s house in Davis.
The complaint said officers received information from Tucker County 911 and the information was passed to Grant County 911. It states Wolfe was heading toward Bayard, West Virginia in Grant County. The complaint said the officers traveled to Bayard and says Burge was flagged down by a local resident and advised the alleged victim and Wolfe were behind the sewage plant along the Potomac River. According to the complaint, Schmidle and Donelson spotted Wolfe who appeared to be pulling the victim along the river’s edge.
The complaint further states the alleged victim told officers she locked herself in her bedroom and said Wolfe broke into her house and bedroom and forced her to leave the residence – it said the alleged victim said Wolfe had been abusing her for about eight months and said Wolfe had been telling her he was going to kill her and her family.
Charges against Wolfe were also filed in Grant County where Wolfe is being charged with attempted murder, strangulation and kidnapping.
As of press time, Wolfe is being housed in the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail. His preliminary hearing in Tucker County Magistrate Court is set for 10 a.m. April 19.
In Tucker County Circuit Court Thursday, Jonathan C. Lambert, 19, of Buckhannon appeared with his attorney Jeremy Cooper. Tucker County Prosecuting Attorney Ray LaMora III said Lambert will be evaluated in Morgantown and his case will resume when the doctor’s report is available.
Lambert was indicted in February by a Tucker County Grand Jury on one count of first degree sexual assault and one count of first degree sexual abuse.
Angela Arnold, 41, of Hambleton appeared with her attorney Tim Gentilozzi. LaMora said there was just a lot of discovery material that was shared and said he was working with Gentilozzi, hoping to resolve the case through a plea offer.
Arnold was indicted in February by a Tucker County Grand Jury in a sealed indictment charging one count of embezzlement. According to the criminal complaint, Arnold allegedly falsified logs to conceal the removal and theft of approximately $33,000 from her then employer. The complaint alleges the incident occurred between Feb. 12, 2013 and July 31, 2013. Arnold is scheduled to return to Tucker County Circuit Court at 11 a.m. May 15.
James D. Wilson, 52, of Dryfork appeared with his attorney Frank Bush. Wilson was indicted on five counts of first degree sexual assault, five counts of second degree sexual assault and 10 counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, custodian or person in a position of trust.
Wilson is slated to return to Tucker County Circuit Court for a three-day trial.
