The Tucker County Senior Citizens held their monthly Outpost at the Parsons Center on April 4, 2017. Evelyn Moore welcomed everyone. Everyone recited the Lord’s Prayer, gave the Pledge of Allegiance and then sang “God Bless America.”

Linda Bonner read the minutes of the March Outpost which were approved as corrected.

Those having April birthdays were recognized. They were Kenny Knotts and Bill Carey.

Linda Bonner gave a brief history of April Fool’s Day titled “April Fool’s Day.” Barbara McClung then read “April Fooling.” “Another Spring” was read by Bernice Hymes and Adelene Snyder read “Song of Easter.” The readings were concluded with the reading of a humorous poem titled “Daffodowndilly.

After the announcements the group was blessed with several selections by the Goldenaires choir. They included: “Thank God for the Promises of Spring,” “From the manger to the Cross,” “In Gethsemane Alone,” “A Crown of Thorns,” “Had it not Been,” “By His Stripes Ye Were Healed,” “Gone,” and “Because He Lives.”

Door prizes were won by: Jean Morrison, Lily Nestor, Karl Myers, Jack Miller and Adelene Snyder.

A blessing on the food was given and everyone enjoyed a delicious meal.
