Patty Ann Ashby Wotring, 80, a native of Parsons and more recently Buckhannon, passed from this life Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the home of her daughter surrounded by her loving family and under the care of West Virginia Hospice.
Patty was born Wednesday, July 8, 1936 at St. George, a daughter of the late Howard Wesley Ashby and Delcie Agnes Vance Ashby. On December 22, 1954, she was married to Ray D. Wotring who survives in Buckhannon. They had celebrated sixty-two and a half years of marriage.
Others left to cherish Patty’s memory are her three children, Kathy Cantrell, Steven Ray Wotring, and Jonathan Matthew Wotring, one brother, Howard Dale Ashby, six grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.
Patty was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1954 and had attended Lee College. She was a homemaker and had worked as a housekeeper for others as well. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother and grandmother, and she will be missed.
Patty’s request for cremation will be honored. A celebration of Patty’s life will be held at Believers Fellowship Church in Montrose Sunday, April 30, 2017 at 2 p.m. The family has asked for memorial contributions to be made to West Virginia Hospice, 8 Hartman Plaza, Buckhannnon, WV 26201-2230
