The Tucker Valley Middle School Softball team started the season on March 24th at West Fairmont. The Lady Wildcats fell in the contest 11-3. Leading hitter was Paige Shaffer with 2 hits. London Hood and Tory Paul each with 1 hit and Paul scored 2 runs while Hood scored 1.
On March 28th Tucker Valley got the win at Taylor County 18-8. Paige Shaffer picked up the win for the Lady Wildcats pitching as she struck out 6 in the game. The game was broke open in the 5th inning when Tucker Valley scored 10 runs in the inning. Tory Paul led Tucker Valley batting with 3 hits and 2 runs scored. London Hood, Paige Shaffer and Kate Simmons also each picked up 2 hits and scored 2 runs each for the Lady Wildcats.
Game 3 of the season came at Buckhannon on March 30th with a loss in the contest 13-5. London Hood led Tucker Valley with 3 hits and 1 run scored. Tory Paul followed with 2 hits and 2 runs scored.
Tucker Valley traveled to Robert L. Bland in Weston on April 4th and took the loss 13-5. Tucker Valley was led by Tory Paul and London Hood with 3 hits each and Paul scored 2 runs while Hood scored 1 run in the loss. Kristen Hicks and Gracie Rapp also each contributed 1 hit and 1 run for the Lady Wildcats.
On April 13th Tucker Valley picked up a win in their first home game of the season against West Fairmont 10-0. Corrinia Lipscomb picked up the win for Tucker Valley on the mound pitching the shutout and striking out 4 batters with no walks. Lipscomb also collected 2 hits and scored 1 run. Gracie Rapp added 2 hits and scored 2 runs for the Lady Wildcats and Kristen Hicks and London Hood also picked up 1 hit a piece and each scored 2 runs. Tory Paul, Shaleigh Darlington, and Erin Cassidy also added 1 run each for Tucker Valley in the win.
The Lady Wildcats hosted Taylor County on April 18th and picked up the win10-6. Paige Shaffer got the win for Tucker Valley on the mound pitching 4 1/3 innings. Kate Simmons and Corrinia Lipscomb also came in and pitched the last 2 2/3 innings preserving the Lady Wildcat win. London Hood led Tucker Valley at the plate with 2 hits including a Home Run and 3 runs scored. Paige Shaffer also contributed 2 hits including a triple while Kristen Hicks scored 2 runs and Kate Simmons, Corrinia Lipscomb and Cheyenne Gooden also each scored a run for Tucker Valley in the win. Tucker Valley will host Doddridge County on April 27th and will travel to East Fairmont on April 28th. The Lady Wildcats will then host Buckhannon on May 1st and then host Elkins on May 2nd with both games starting at 5pm. For more info visit TuckerCountySports.Com.
