MT. LIONS BASEBALL TEAM WINS 1 AND DROPS 1 IN WET WEEK

PARSONS – The Tucker County Baseball team hosted Union on Tuesday April 18th. The Mt. Lions took the lead and never looked back as they cruised to a 15-1 win.


The Mt. Lions took a 2-0 in the first inning after a single by Slayter Liller drove in 2 runs for Tucker County. The Mt. Lions then scored 9 runs in the 4th inning as 2 singles by Garrett Carrico and a single by Slayter Liller, Christian Purnell, Josh Freeman, Michael Gherman and a double by Shayne Liller broke the game open. Tucker County collected 11 hits in the contest and took the victory 15-1.

PARSONS – The Mt. Lions entertained Tygarts Valley on Wednesday April 19th for an afternoon contest. The Bulldogs exploded in the 5th inning to get the win at Tucker County 14-1.

Tygarts Valley scored 8 runs in the 5th inning to take command of the game. The big inning for the Bulldogs came as a result of 4 hits that put the game out of reach for the Mt. Lions. The Bulldogs collected 10 hits in the game and took the victory 14-1.

Garrett Carrico and Christian Purnell had 1 hit each for Tucker County in the loss. Carrico took the loss for Tucker County as he went 4 and 2/3’s of an inning.

Tucker County(4-8) will return to action tonight April 26th at home against Trinity at 6pm and then they will travel to Philip-Barbour April 27th at 5pm. The Mt. Lions will then host Paw Paw on April 28th at 5pm. For more info and an up to date schedule go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
