Merlin Brooke Propst, 87, of Richlands, NC passed away April 23, 2017 at Heritage of Richlands. He was born in Tucker County, WV a son of the late Ernest Jennings and Loutie Hedrick Propst.


He is survived by 2 brothers, Allen Smith and Lewis (Marie) Smith, two sisters, Bonnie (James) Good and Violet Charles, one son, Steven Michel, 1 daughter, Laura Schaeffer, and a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernie Propst and Richard Propst.

Friends were received at Hinkle Funeral Home, Saturday, April 29 from 2-6 p.m. Funeral services were held, 1 p.m., Sunday, April 30, at Flanagan Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Neil Parsons officiating. Interment followed in the Flanagan Hill Cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. www.hinklefuneralhome.com
