PARSONS – The Forest Service will host an informational open house June 19 to reach out to potential partners, Forest visitors, and the local community to gather feedback on how they would like to see the Nursery Bottom site in Parsons managed for recreation, education, and administrative needs.

The open house will be held at the Parsons office of the Cheat-Potomac Ranger District, also called the Nursery Bottom, at 459 Nursery Bottom Road in Parsons, June 19 from 6-8 p.m.

The meeting will be held outdoors near the Allegheny Highlands Trailhead, weather permitting. If you need sign language interpretation or other accessible accommodations please contactElizabeth Tichner at (304) 257-4488 or etichner02@fs.fed.us by June 2.

The Cheat-Potomac Ranger District on the Monongahela National Forest plans to develop a management plan for this location in cooperation with the USDA Forest Service State and Private Forestry Program and the Northern Research Station. The project is in the early stages of development, with a long-term goal of encouraging public use by connecting the community of Parsons and the public with the site.

For more information, please contact Jon Morgan at (304) 478-2000 or jmorgan@fs.fed.us; or Elizabeth Tichner at (304) 257-4488 or etichner02@fs.fed.us.
