Sharon Ann Collett Hovatter, age 74 years, a resident of Parsons, WV departed this life early Thursday morning, July 6, 2017 at her home. She had been declining health, although death was unexpected.


She was born Wednesday, February 17, 1943 at Tucker County, a daughter of the late Theron A. and Alice M. Filler Collett. On October 12, 1972, she was married to Ronald Dale Hovatter, who survives.

Also surviving are one sister, Patricia J. Bohon and husband Earl of Location; one grandson, Josh Barkley; two great grandsons, James and Dane Barkley, all of Parsons; two special friends, Joleene and Jay Kisner of Virginia.

Preceding her in death are one son, James Barkley and one brother, Theron (Steve) Collett.
She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1961. She worked for the Dorman Mills and the Parsons Footwear, before her retirement. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles with her sister, Patty. She loved her flowers and her cats. Sharon will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Mrs. Hovatter’s request for cremation was honored and a memorial service is being planned for a later date. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Sharon Ann Collett Hovatter. Condolences may be expressed to the family at; www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com
