The 2017 Autumn Glory Royalty Court has been selected for the 50th annual Autumn Glory Festival. This year’s king is Ryan Hebb, and the queen is Alanna Kinney. Garrett Regional Medical Center, an affiliate of WVU Medicine, is the title sponsor of this year’s festival.
Hebb is a member of Southern High School basketball, cross-country, track, and theater. He is also involved with Loch Lynn Church and youth group. He works with children on service club basketball teams and is on the honor roll. He is the son of Dawna Ashby, of Mt. Lake Park, Md. and Rocky Hebb of Buckhannon and the grandson of David and June Friend and the late Debbie Friend, of Etam and Carol and the late Charles Hebb Jr., of Parsons.
Kinney participates in Northern High School soccer as a captain, is a member of the NHS newspaper and journalism club, and assists with morning announcements. She recently received the President’s Volunteer Service Award and is also an honor roll student. Her other passions include piano and golf.
The Autumn Glory king and queen will preside over the Autumn Glory kick-off reception on Wednesday, Oct. 11, and will be featured in the Autumn Glory Grand Feature Parade on Saturday, Oct. 14. In addition to representing their home county during the Autumn Glory Festival and at other events, the royalty court will receive monetary contribution toward future educational attainment endeavors.
The sponsors of this year’s royalty court are Byco Enterprises Inc., Hugh Umbel Companies, and Potomac Edison. The 50th Annual Autumn Glory Festival is set for Oct. 11–15 and includes two large parades, concerts, band competitions, art exhibits, and antique and craft shows. The festival is timed to coincide with the peak of fall foliage in Garrett County, which can be observed on the 2017 Autumn Glory Fall Foliage Tours.
