Elkins, WV (July 24, 2017) – Allegheny Insurance Services, Inc. today announced the Tucker County Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) as one of the winners of their latest “Keep the Change” match donation program. The group received a $1,000 match donation from Allegheny Insurance, who matched the top two participants’ efforts up to $1,000.
Allegheny Insurance’s latest “Keep the Change” initiative ran from April 1st through June 31st. “Keep the Change” was created to encourage community members to support area groups and organizations. The program is simple. Allegheny Insurance donates bottled water to local sports teams and non-profit organizations who then sell the bottled water at events throughout the year.
The participating groups are encouraged to promote the “Keep the Change” initiative, and use the bottles as piggy banks, collecting spare dimes until it’s full and returning it to the organization who sold it or donating to the charity of their choice.
At the end of the latest three-month period, the FBLA received $1,424 in dimes, the FCA $1,035, and Barbour County Youth Baseball $923.
“Fundraising in the area is typically difficult. We’re in a small community, and so many people hit up local businesses for donations, support,” stated Gerald Furby, advisor to the FBLA. Shane Eakle, director of the FCA, continued, “‘Keep the Change’ allowed us to collect little by little, especially at events, without having to pedal anything!”
The Tucker County FCA will use their total of $2,035 in support of their members, including community service projects and 2018’s scholarships.
“We are thrilled to see an increase in participation of local groups and organizations with our ‘Keep the Change’ initiative,” said James W. Wallace, President of Allegheny Insurance. “This is a simple way for them to raise money and also for others in the community to get involved. We’re looking forward to continuing this program and help even more people in our area.”

About “Keep the Change”
Allegheny Insurance recognizes the importance of corporate giving as it helps promote a better quality of life for our community, especially our youth. Allegheny helps to support fundraising by donating bottled water, which empowers our local organizations by giving them the tools to surpass any monetary donation we could otherwise give. By receiving free water bottles to sell, non-profits are able to raise money for their causes.
“Keep the Change” was created to encourage community members to “pay it forward” and support additional groups and organizations, by simply filling your empty Allegheny Insurance water bottle with dimes. The bottles hold 1,000 dimes, which equates to a $100 donation to your favorite charity. Learn more about Keep the Change.
