Cakewalk
The Tucker County Veterans and Parsons OES will hold a cakewalk and hotdog sale at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19 on the Courthouse Square.
DAR meeting
The Blackwater Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution will meet on August 19 at 1 p.m. at Lil’ Andi’s Restaurant in Parsons. All members are urged to attend.

It’s a Carnival
Maple Spring Church Family Life Center, in Eglon, will have a Carnival on Saturday, Aug. 19. A Hoagie lunch will be available from 1 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Carnival will be from 1 – 5 p.m. with a Car Show running from 3 – 6 p.m. Enjoy a Hog Roast for $10 from 4 – 7 p.m. and round out the evening with a Gospel Sing from 7 – 8:30 p.m.
