Last week’s photo was identified by several folks from the Thomas Area. For each call that I received, these two folks were always described as “they were the nicest two folks”. They are Harry and Delilah “Sally” Rumor Jackson. They lived in Thomas. One lady said “they were just always there , I am not sure where they came from but they were just the nicest folks”. Harry was a coal miner and Sally did work in private homes to help supplement the income. They had several children but the only two names that came to memory were: Bob Jackson and Irene Jackson who married a Simmons. This week’s photo is of the men who went to the Fire Fighter’s Tournament at Soldier’s Field in Chicago, IL September 5, 1937. They are (standing left to right) Kenneth Stevens, Henry Clair, Bill Bennett (seated left to right) Milford (Cooney) Parsons, Earl Corcoran, Darl Stalnaker. Ideas or comments contact Tim Turner (304) 478-3389.
