Luke Barb

The Parsons Lions Club recently sponsored local youth Luke Barb to attend Camp Kno Koma. Camp Kno Koma is a summer camping experience for children with diabetes in and around the state of West Virginia.

The camp is located in Greenbrier County and is staffed by physicians, nurses, dieticians, pharmacists and other medical support staff, along with counselors (many of which have diabetes themselves) to provide an invaluable opportunity for children with diabetes to gain skills in managing their disease within a supportive community.

Barb attended the Parsons Lions Club Meeting on August 22 to address the club about his experience at Camp Kno Koma. Nick said that he had a great time, learned some new games, made some new friends and would love to go back next year. The Parsons Lions Club is a service organization serving the Parsons area, they help individuals in need to obtain eye glasses and eye exams, as well as supporting various other local charities.

If you are interested in finding out more about Lions Club or interested in joining, please contact VJ Davis, Parsons Lions Club President at 304-677-9612.
