The first of two City Council meetings this month was held on Tuesday, September 5, at 6 p.m. in the Parsons Municipal Building.

Representatives from Henry Consulting spoke on their analysis of the Region VII Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan.  This mitigation plan profiles 12 natural and human disasters and emergencies.

According to the National Flood Insurance Program Community Rating System, Parsons is considered Class 8.  This rating qualifies Parsons residents for a 10 percent discount on their insurance premiums if their property lies in the floodplain.
