TC Association of Retired School Employees Meeting

The Tucker County Association of Retired School Employees will meet at noon on Thursday Sept. 21 at Little Andi’s Restaurant. All retirees are invited to attend.

Movie Night

Movie Night Monday at Five Rivers Public Library, Monday, Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. Showing The Shack, After a family tragedy, Mack spirals into a crisis of faith, and questions God’s existence and life’s purpose. Mack is unable to move on, until he gets a mysterious invitation to an abandoned shack. There, God reveals himself in the form of strangers led by papa. Rated PG-13, Run time 132 minutes. Free Popcorn and drinks. Free Community Event.

Great Artwork for a Great Cause

At 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21 the Tucker County Photography Club and the Cortland Foundation will host an auction of regional photographers prints and several wood crafted pieces made from cherry lumber that was harvested from the Cortland Acres campus. The evening will also feature the unveiling of 14 new prints that will be displayed within Cortland Acres new short-term, inpatient rehab unit known as the Blackwater Unit for the next year. Flu Shots

The Tucker County Health Department will be having Flu Shot Clinics on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at The First United Methodist Church in Parsons from 10 a.m. – noon and Wednesday, Oct. 4 at Davis Fire Hall from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. If you have Medicare or insurance bring your card, you will not be charged any co-pay. If you do not have insurance, you can still received a flu shot at no cost. Must be 18 or older.

Leadmine CERT and the Leadmine United Methodist Church Picnic & Dedication Ceremony

Leadmine CERT and the Leadmine United Methodist Church Picnic & Dedication Ceremony, Saturday, Sept. 23 at 1 p.m. with a picnic lunch and ceremony to follow. The dedication of the Leadmine Community Park, the Waterwheel and Log Museum, the addition to the Church and the Bridge that connects it all together will be at this time. Rain location will be in our Fellowship Hall.Everyone welcome. Fellowship Hall.

Flanagan Hill Fall Festival

Flanagan Hill Fall Festival in Red Creek on Saturday, September 23. Roast Beef Dinner served from 1 to 5 p.m. $10 Adults, $7 Ages 6-10, 5 and under free. There will be games for the young and old throughout the day, including X-cut saw competition, pony rides, bounce house, Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle, homemade Apple Butter for sale, and raffle tickets which include $300 Cabels’s gift card, $100 Bath/Body gift card, and Gandy Dance Theater show tickets for two. Cake walk at 6:30 p.m. Everyone welcome.

Harvest Dinner

The Tucker County Fair Harvest Dinner will be held Oct. 15 at Camp Kidd at 3 p.m. Bring a covered dish. Everyone welcome.

4-H Achievement Night

The 4-H Achievement Night will be held at Camp Kidd on October 8 at 2 pm. Everyone welcome.

4H and Movie Night in the park

The Tucker County WVU Extension office will host a free movie night in the park during National 4H Week. The event will be at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6 in Mill Race Park. 4H enrollment forms will be available. Local 4 H clubs will be selling popcorn, cotton candy, hotdogs and more. The movis will be Sing. For info contact the Extension office at 3-4-478-2949, ext 209. Everyone welcome.
