September 25 through 30, 2017, was declared Retired School Employees Week by the Tucker County Commission at their meeting September 27.
Debbie Moore, secretary of this group, explained that teachers, administrators, bus drivers, cooks, secretaries, aides and other school personnel continue to be very active in the community after they retire. The 91 year young treasurer of the group, Evelyn Moore, told of the various organizations in which she volunteers, as an example of the thousands of volunteer hours logged by retirees.
