Twila Marie Wolford, 95, of Dryfork, WV passed away October 23, 2017 in Elkins, WV. She was born May 27, 1922 in Canaan Valley, WV a daughter of the late Edward Faye and Chloe Elva Bodkin Simmons.


She is survived by her husband, Virgil Wolford, two sons; Ron (Brenda) Wolford and Don (Tammy) Wolford, both of Dryfork, WV, two daughters; Cathy (Larry) Rummel, Belington, WV and Shirley (James) Wolfe, Nutter Fort, WV, two brothers; Richard Simmons, Baltimore, MD, and Hoye Simmons, Elkins, WV, 6 grandchildren; Nicole Painter, Steven (Stacy) Wolford, David Wolford, Jenna Wolfe, Michael (Markie) Wolfe, and Travis (Sarah) Rummell, and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Terry Wolford, three brothers; Herbert Simmons, Harry Simmons and Leo Simmons, two infant brothers and two sisters; Helen Jacobs and Argyle Shank.

Mrs. Wolford worked for Best Western in housekeeping and was homemaker as well. She was a member of the Blackwater Rebekah Lodge #274 and received her 50 year pin several years ago. She was a member of the Harman Church of the Brethren, Flanagan Hill Women’s Club, and Flanagan Hill Outpost. Mr. and Mrs. Wolford both helped serve meals and clean up for the Harman Senior Center.

Friends were received at Hinkle Funeral Home, Wednesday, October 25, from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services were held, 1 p.m., Thursday, October 26, at Hinkle Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Moyers officiating. Interment followed in the Flanagan Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Harman Church of the Brethren, PO Box 1 Harman, WV 26270 Hinkle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. www.hinklefuneralhome.com
