ONA,WV – Tucker County sophomore Will White traveled to Cabell Midland High School on Saturday October 28th to compete in the State Cross Country Championship. In Cross Country “AA” and “A” Classes are grouped together for the State Championship.
Will White finished the race in 72nd place out of 131 runners with a time of 18:54.20. Aaron Withrow from Winfield took home the individual State Championship in Boys “AA-A” with a time of 16:09.91. The Team State Championship in “AA-A” was won by East Fairmont followed by Fairmont Senior who placed second to take the Team “AA-A” State Runner-Up honors. Jessica Melvin from Philip-Barbour captured the Girls’ individual “AA-A” State Championship with a time of 18:57.57. Winfield took home the Team State Championship in Girls’ “AA-A” followed by Philip-Barbour who placed second to capture the Girls’ Team State Runner-Up in “AA-A”.
