Charleston, WVA – The contract covering 1,600 members of the Communications Workers of America at Frontier Communications in West Virginia and Ashburn, Va., that was set to expire on Nov. 4 has been extended until March 3, 2018 while negotiations continue.

The CWA elected bargaining team has been working to negotiate a fair agreement since early May. This is the second contract extension for this agreement; the bargaining team is continuing to work through complicated issues, including health care, employment security, keeping good jobs in local communities and other concerns.

Bargaining committee members are President Ken Williams, Local 2001; President Rick McKinney, Local 2007; President Shannon Fink, Local 2009, and CWA staff Linda Miller, Elaine Harris, and Letha Perry, chair of the committee.

CWA members in West Virginia and Virginia are continuing to mobilize at worksites to make certain that Frontier knows that members are 100 percent committed to reaching a fair contract.
