The Tucker County Senior Citizens held their monthly Outpost at the Parsons Center on December 5, 2017. Evelyn Moore welcomed everyone. Everyone recited the Lord’s Prayer, gave the Pledge of Allegiance and then sang “God Bless America.”
Those having December birthdays were recognized. It was Betty Bennett. The group then sang “Happy Birthday” to her.
Linda Bonner read the minutes of the previous meeting and they were approved as read.
Arlene Ramsey read “The Flight into Egypt” and “Christmas Eve.” Vera Lipscomb then read “The Stable boy’s Story.”
After the announcements, the group was blessed with singing by the Sonbeams from the First United Methodist Church. They sang:
“You’re Here” which was a duet by Dana Corcoran and Diana Canfield, “What Child is This?”, “We are the Reason”, “Christmas Time’s A’ Coming”, “Breath of Heaven” which was a trio of Dana Corcoran, Diana Canfield, and Wanda Booth, “It’s about the Cross”, “The Angels Cried”, “Jingle Bells”, and “O Holy Night”.
A moment of silence was held in memory of 2 of our seniors who had recently passed away.
Door prizes were won by Susie Jones, Kenny Knotts, Bill Carey, Eva Phillips, Junior Mason, and Dennis Lansberry.
Ken Knotts asked the blessing on the food before a delicious lunch.
