Mountaintop Public Library

Join us in the discussion of The Prodigal Road-My Journey up the Mountain by Dr. Richard Miller. This is a personal story of the rescue of an exuberant young man who became entrapped in the deceitful clutches of evil. Dr. Richard Miller— the author and subject of the book—interweaves the antics, joy, and pain of a preacher’s kid exploring the hills of West Virginia and imagining the thrill of exploring faraway places. Wednesday, December 27 at the Library in Thomas next to DTEMS.

Christmas Committee Invites Community to Join in Community Caroling Dec. 23

The Philippi Christmas Committee invites the entire community to join in the community caroling set for Saturday, December 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
Everyone who loves to sing Christmas carols is invited to gather at the Courthouse Square Gazebo at 6:00 pm. The group will then carol throughout downtown and perhaps venture a little further out of town.
At about 8:00 pm the carolers will gather once again on the Gazebo where they will be treated to hot chocolate. Pastor Sam Haught of Philippi’s Crim Methodist Church will host this final Christmas Committee event.
The winners of this year’s residential lighting contest will also be announced from the Gazebo Saturday evening after the caroling.
