ELKINS— Randolph County’s Hooked on Fishing Not on Drugs (HOFNOD) Expo will be held Saturday, March 17, from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the Elkins High School gym located at 100 Kennedy Drive.
A one-day event this year, HOFNOD will offer the same great lineup of fun activities, live entertainment, educational workshops and interactive vendor booths. The Expo is a nationally recognized drug prevention program, emphasizing the importance of healthy lifestyle choices and living a drug and alcohol-free life.
“HOFNOD attracts hundreds of families and children from the region because it provides many interactive experiences and chances to win fishing poles and other great prizes,” said HOFNOD Coordinator Robin Miller. “We educate students about the importance of healthy lifestyle choices in a fun environment.”
Organizers emphasized the change in event venue from a two-day to a one-day Expo.
“From nine to seven Saturday, students can enjoy the fish pond, Galaxy Meltdown, and other activities, said Miller. Other attractions provided by vendors include games, giveaways and raffles.
“We appreciate our sponsors, volunteers and vendors for making HOFNOD a favorite springtime event for local families and youth,” Miller added. “The prevention of tobacco, drug and alcohol use is an important message for our youth.”
