Betty Lou Watring, 91, of Thomas, WV passed away peacefully from this earth on February 21st, 2018 at Piney Valley Rehabilitation Nursing Facility and into her Heavenly Father’s arms with family members by her side.
She was born February 10th, 1927 in Shaw, WV. The daughter of the late Melker Mayles and Nevada Stalnaker Mayles. She was the last surviving member of her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Watring, Sr., three sisters, Eloise, Nilda, and Nadine, and one brother, Lyle.
She was a homemaker who shared much love with her family and all who entered her home. She loved sharing coffee and food with all who stopped to visit. She was a member of the Thomas United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing her piano by ear, reading her Bible, crocheting, baking bread, and chatting about life. Betty Lou will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is survived by three sons, Edward (Patricia) Watring, Capon Bridge, WV, Elmer (Sandra) Watring, Jr., Parsons, WV, and Rodney (Linda) Watring, Gerrardstown, WV. Betty Lou was blessed with eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She also has several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Pam DeLoach, who helped care for her until the end of her earthly journey.
We would like to extend a special thank you to Garrett Regional Medical Center and Piney Valley Rehab Nursing Staff for the excellent care provided to our Mom and Grandma until she took her last breath and peacefully entered Heavens Gates Singing with Angels.
Friends were received at Hinkle Funeral Home, Saturday, February 24, from 12 – 3 p.m. Funeral services were held immediately following the visitation, starting at 3 p.m. with Rev.
