The Tucker County Senior Citizens held their monthly Outpost at the Parsons Center on March 6, 2018. Evelyn Moore welcomed everyone. Everyone recited the Lord’s Prayer, gave the Pledge of Allegiance, and then sang “God Bless America.”
Those having a March birthday were recognized. They were: Evelyn Moore, Jim Buddingh, Virginia Popio, Mary Grado, Earl Moore, Brenda Jones, Junior Mason, Truman Phillips, Velma Roy, and Lee Johnson. The group then sang “Happy Birthday” to them.
Linda Bonner read the minutes of the previous meeting and they were approved as read.
“Welcome Spring” was read by Linda Bonner followed by “Hello Spring” being read by Arlene Ramsey and “Nature” being read by Vera Lipscomb.
The program then switched to thoughts of St. Patrick’s Day. Meg Buddingh read “Treasure Hunt” and Kenny Knotts read “I’ll wear a Shamrock. Linda then read some St. Patrick’s Day jokes. She also reminded us that March is Women’s History Month.
Our entertainment was Mr. Fred Pudderbaugh. He told some Irish tales and sang several songs. His songs included: “My Wild Irish Rose”, “Danny Boy”, “Over in Killarney”, “When Irish Eyes are Smiling”, and “I’ll Take You Home Again Cathleen.”
Door prizes were awarded to Arlene Ramsey, Meg Buddingh, Eva Phillips, and Dennis Lansberry.
A prayer for the food was then offered by Kenny Knotts.
A delicious meal was had by all.
