THOMAS SKIPPER, age 75 years, a resident of Location Road, St. George, WV departed this life Sunday afternoon, March 25, 2018 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, WV. He had been in declining health.
He was born Tuesday, October 13, 1942 at Baltimore, MD, a son of the late James Leo and The Rev. Iris Violet Skipper. He had never married.
Surviving are one brother, Patrick Skipper of Oakland, MD; one sister, Becky Starr Skipper Arbogast and husband Kevin of St. George, WV; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death is one infant sister.
He attended the schools of Oakland, MD. Tom was owner & operator of the former S & A Salvage and he was a carpenter. He was a charter member for over thirty years of the Good Tidings Assembly of God Church at Oakland, Md and attended the St. George Church of God at St. George, WV, where he played the bass guitar at church. Tom enjoyed watching western tv shows and he liked to make people laugh.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. On Thursday, March 29, 2018, Mr. Skipper will be moved to the Rocky Drean Church, on the Bray School Road at Oakland, MD, where friends may call from 12 noon until 1 PM, the funeral hour. The Rev. Carroll Harvey will officiate, and interment will follow at the Friend Cemetery on Bray School Road at Oakland, MD.
